The London Appreciation Society was founded in 1932 by the late Dr H. L. Bryant Peers.
The LAS is a secular, non-political and non-profit making body for anyone interested in the past, present and future of London.
Our programme includes:
Talks on a wide-range of subjects given by expert and engaging speakers at a convenient and comfortable lecture hall.
Walks to parts of London on a specific theme or to a particular area. Some are short walks, while others form part of a larger project which is broken down into smaller segments. All are led by expert guides or an LAS member, chosen by the Society for their expertise.
Visits to historic and notable buildings, some of which are established landmarks, others which are less well known and may not be open to the general public.
Social events at pubs and restaurants.
The Blue Book: Details of these events are published every six months and distributed to members in the “Blue Book”.[See a sample Blue Book]
